The Brazos Ranch is an exceptional recreational property for the sportsmen looking for exciting outdoor opportunities in the rugged big country of West Texas. The 152 acres is composed primarily of deep cedar lined canyons that spill into dense stands of hardwoods along the Brazos River. The east side of the property has the highest elevation and features a nice 24 acre food plot.
The flat, well drained sandy soil is ideal for winter crops that draw large numbers of wildlife from the Brazos River bottom. Heading west the elevation drops dramatically toward the river forming many deep canyons. One of the larger canyons has been impounded forming a nice wet weather duck pond/slough complete with large hunting blind and is perfect for waterfowl hunting activities.
Although the topography changes are dramatic, an excellent interior road system allows easy access to all areas of the ranch including 2,650 feet of Brazos River frontage. A nice mix of hardwoods and towering cottonwoods provide thick cover for Whitetail deer, turkey, and wild hogs. Several feeder/blind setups have been strategically placed on the heavily used game trails that crisscross the ranch.
This is an excellent hunting area as the Brazos Ranch takes advantage of being situated between the transitional area of farmland and the rugged river bottom. In addition, the high ground near the food plot area with nearby electricity and stunning views of the rolling plains would make an excellent spot for a hunter’s camp or building location. The existing perimeter fencing is good with a nice double-gated pipe entrance lane along Highway 222. The Brazos Ranch is a great property for any owner looking for smaller acreage with nice topography changes along the Brazos River of North Texas.
