Property Information

Located at the dead end of a quiet county road is the Pease River Ranch that offers a great opportunity to own a diverse and well laid out river property, with approximately 3/10 mile of frontage on the Pease River, heavily wooded pasture, and productive farm land that couples as an outstanding food plot. Near the gated ranch entrance is a small camp area with metal cabin, carport, and storage container which is very accessible, but private and totally away from the prime hunting areas of the property.

The property lies on the north side of the Pease River, in the sandy portions of the river bottom. Good soils mean good vegetation, and are found throughout the entire ranch. Dense thickets of brush, tall mesquites, mature hackberries, plum thickets, tall grasses, range brush, along with some 45 acres of cultivation act as a ready to go food plot. The habitat here is perfect for a variety of wildlife, including Whitetail deer, Rio Grande turkey, wild hogs, bobcat, coyote, and plenty of ducks on the river. Hog rubs and wallows are easy to find just about anywhere in the pasture, as are buck rubs and scrapes.

The pasture is accessed by a number of ATV trails and small roads that wind through the property. The river is easy to get to as well, with several access points by pasture road. Highly traveled game trails are found throughout the property and are especially noticeable near the river. Some of the trails are so heavily traveled they look similar to cattle trails.

The ranch has not been grazed by livestock for 3 years and the grasses have flourished. Catfishing and bow fishing for Gar and Carp are other fun recreational activities found on Tate’s Pease River Ranch. When the river has been up from recent rainfall, the catfish come upstream from the nearby Red River and congregate in the Pease channels.
