The HB Hunting Ranch is a turn key hunting ranch that is
ready to be enjoyed. With a wide variety of terrain and
large elevation changes of 150 feet or more, it not only
offers seclusion and excellent hunting, but also
breathtaking views of the canyons and Pease River Valley
below. The ranch is located at the end of a low traveled
county road and it surrounded by large ranches and minimal
traffic. Most ranches with these attributes rarely have
amenities such as electricity and first class lodging
facilities. In the 2009 hunting season, the owners took two
large whitetails including a 161 3/8 and a 157 6/8. The
ranch joins the 1,900 acre Copper Breaks State Park to the
South and with no hunting allowed in the park, there is a
good flow of game traffic from the Pease River Valley
through the HB Ranch. The large food plots are one of the
ranches greatest assets since there are minimal feeding
fields in this area. It is common to see large numbers of
wildlife in the evenings and morning grazing the fields
before they return to the dense brush cover surrounding
them. Uncommon to the area, there is a large grassy meadow
with many large hackberry trees with make excellent bedding
areas for deer and hogs along with a perfect roosting area
for turkey. Seasonal Monkey Creek meanders across a large
area of the HB Ranch offering pools of water nearly
year-round and a perfect place to setup for watching game
traveling the ranch. |
