The Sharp Ranch is loaded with all sorts of wildlife and
acts as a deer magnet from the adjoining 550,000 acre
ranch. Having the large cultivated field in the center of
the ranch is ideal for attracting large numbers of game from
the adjoining brush. Hardwoods such as hackberry and china
berry trees, along with thick mesquite cover, are all around
the field making for excellent deer blind setups. There are
countless game trails traveling in and out of the field and
brushy areas from the wildlife traveling to feed in the
morning and evening. When in wheat, it is common to see
very large numbers of Whitetail deer, Hogs, and Turkey out
grazing the field during the winter months. Turkey roost in
the larger trees and travel the brush lines throughout the
entire property. Turkey Creek is a wet-weather creek that
winds through the South side of the ranch offering a water
source for wildlife as well as an excellent travel path.
Currently the large field is being rotated to cotton for ag
purposes, but will soon be planted back in winter wheat and
a grain crop. There are four ponds in different areas of
the property also providing water sources and they offer
excellent duck hunting. With excellent cover around the
ponds and slough areas, a hunter has plenty of camouflage to
easily view wildlife coming to and from the water sources |

Whitetail Deer, Quail, Turkey, Dove, Duck, Geese, Javelina,
Wild Hogs, and fishing in ponds. |
