River Loop Ranch |

Location: |
Southern Foard County on County
Rd. 267, between Thalia and Crowell, TX bordering the
Wichita River. |
|
Terrain: |
River Loop Ranch has a lot to
offer including thick areas of brush and trees, lots of
elevation change, and areas with scattered mesquite. The
South side of the ranch has the Wichita River making a loop
in it, making a great wildlife habitat. Near where the river
winds, there are very thick areas of thick brush and
hardwood trees which harbor deer and turkey. As you near the
center of the ranch the vegetation becomes lighter, making
an ideal quail hunting area. There are many excellent acres
of quail hunting on this property. The ranch changes
dramatically from thick areas to open clearings, which make
it ideal for several hunters to hunt different areas without
disturbing each other. There are approximately 10 ponds,
several with fish, keeping wildlife from traveling a long
distance to water. In the winter, these ponds are covered
with ducks. There are also many wet weather creeks that wind
through the property, with some holding pools of water long
after a rain. The River Loop Ranch has several food plots,
with blinds and feeders in place, and joins the huge 550,000
W.T. Waggoner Estate on the East side. With the great
diversity this ranch offers, it will not last long. |
