|
Location: |
In Western Central Foard County approximately 12 miles West
of Crowell, TX between Highway 70 and FM 654. |
|
Terrain: |
This unique ranch is well balanced with terrain ranging from
lower areas with hardwood draws to large grassy mesquite
flats and some cedar in the areas with high elevation. The
high elevation cedar and rock plateaus provide excellent
views to overlook the cultivated fields and mesquite draws
in the bottomland. There is a large wet weather creek that
winds in and out of the property which has areas that hold
pools of water in dry weather. Lots of plum thickets and
quail habitat line the large creek banks. There are four ponds, one of
which is spring fed, scattered across the ranch providing
water for cattle and wildlife. There are approximately 450
acres of scattered cultivated fields providing excellent
food plots. These fields are currently fallow and in
sunflowers. The West boundary of the Hartland ranch joins
the 144,000 Triangle Ranch and the South boundary joins the
Comanche Springs Astronomy Center. |

Improvements: |
The centrally located Hartland Ranch Headquarters includes
an older large brick home approximately 3,000 sq/ft with two
smaller rock houses nearby that would make excellent hunting
lodges or foreman’s houses. There is a large set of pipe and
rock corrals with several small horse barns at the
headquarters. City water, electricity, and telephone are
located at several locations throughout ranch. There are
coop water meters with large tubs in three locations of the
ranch that also provide water for wildlife and cattle in dry
times. The perimeter
and internal fences are good to excellent condition. There
is paved access to several areas on ranch. On paved FM 654,
where the ranch lies on both sides of the road, there is 1
mile of open cattle range with cattle guards. Four
cultivated fields totaling approximately 450 acres. |
