Size: 1,499 acres ~ Buck Creek Ranch
Location: The Buck Creek ranch is located in Northeastern Runnels County, just 30 minutes south of Abilene, Texas between Lawn and Winters, Texas or 12 miles east of Novice, Texas.
Terrain: Terrain on the entire ranch is varied with lots of elevation changes and has a good mix of both live and red oaks, hardwoods, cedars and mesquites. There are quite a few large live oak clusters and thickets scattered through the ranch. Buck Creek winds through the middle of the property. There are approximately 220 acres in 4 fields for wildlife plots. There are 15 stock tanks throughout the ranch with some stocked with Florida Bass and Catfish.
Improvements: The perimeter of the ranch is fenced with 8' game proof fencing. There is a 40' x 80' metal barn with an attached 20' x 80' covered equipment storage . The barn has a kitchen area, bathroom, and two bunk rooms. Next to the main shop is a smaller feed storage barn and a nice set of corrals with stables attached. There is also a set of soft release pens. The ranch has a tap on the O.H. Ivie water pipeline to provide raw water for irrigation, livestock, and wildlife if needed. The barn is serviced by North Runnels County Coop for water and Coleman County Electric Coop for electricity.
Wildlife: Whitetail deer, aoudad, sika, elk, axis, black buck, fallow, Mouflon, Black Hawaiian rams, Corsican sheep, turkey, quail and dove. This ranch has been stocked with bucks and does from a scientific breeding facility and has some very high quality blood lines. It is typical to see 3 year old bucks in the 160" to 175" B&C range.
